Gakkou no Kaidan SP is an animated series which was presented in 2005 - 2009, as a bonus video included with the August and September issues of monthly magazine Comic Bun Bun (コミックブンブン "Gekkan komikku bunbun") by publisher Poplar[1]. It supplemented the Ghost School stories by Kyoumi Ogawa which appeared in some issues of the magazine. The August and September issues of the magazine included a VHS tape in 2005, 2006, and a DVD from 2007-2009. Each had a 10-minute Gakkou no Kaidan episode. Some consider this as the second season of Gakkou no Kaidan. The series brings old ghosts from the original show, in a more lighthearted version as "Ghost Hosts" to introduce each segment. The segments consist of 5-minute short stories in which one of the schoolkids has a brief encounter with a ghost or spirit.

The 2005-2007 episodes were repackaged for television, and broadcast on Kids Station in August 2008. For this presentation, the opening theme "Another World" was added. For 2008, 2009, the videos with the magazine added the closing theme "Good Luck". Those two years' shows were not aired.
